As before, as well as giving examples of classics and masters, they want to showcase the latest contemporary talent in the genre and so are calling out for anyone who may have relevant works (in digital media – or traditional media, but it must be supplied digitally) that they would like to send in to consider showing in the book – you would of course be fully credited.

They will also pay a small fee of £30 for the use of each artwork, and each artist will of course get a copy of the book.

All submissions must be send by the middle of February.

While browsing the official website I saw fan art contest announcement. If you’re happen to live in US and at least 18 years old you can participate and maybe win.  The organizers are looking for some amazing artists to create Muramasa-inspired Japanese-style fan art. ArtOrder is one of such opportunities. It’s gonna be a compliation of various artwork picked by the guys at Wizards of the Coast. Participate in the Tuesday Challenges, and become eligible to be included in the upcoming Best of ArtOrder book. Ground Rules are:

1. Sketches must be a new creation (no digging up stuff out of your archives that happens to meet the concept)
2. The sketch must be yours
3. If you were inspired or riffing on some one else’s work – be kind enough to give credit
4. The concept must be submitted before the deadline
5. To be considered for inclusion in the posting you must submit the following information: (as applicable) Name: Website: Blog: Other Site: Copyright Line:
6. Submit the url or sketch to ArtDrop and put the name of the Concept Challenge in the subject line
7. Have fun!

This event is running from July to September 2009 (with the final deadline set to October 10th), so you still have time to jump in and have some fun.

• Submit you work so that we know you exist. (see the bottom of every post for links)
• Meet our minimum quality standards
• Show you understand our content and genre
• Provide contact information
• Hit your deadlines
• Be professional (even when we aren’t…AD’s can be such children at times!)
• Be patient (he have hundreds of artist in our rolodex…we can’t use every wonderful artist!!)
• remind us you are still out there!
• I hate to say this, but we are a english language team. You need to have a basic understanding of the english language, or access to someone that can translate for you – because our communications will be in english (or american, as some of my english friends point out)

Conceptart.org has kicked off a brand new contest called Newborn. The description and rules are quite open, but your main task is “Bring something into the World” or “To Life”.

How to enter:

1. Register to www.conceptart.org/forums
2. Visit the contest forums to see all the great details and info!
3. Create your artwork and submit your final entry in jpeg form at 1000 pixels wide to contest@conceptart.org (include your full name, conceptart.org username, address, and phone number in the email with the entry attached).

Final submissions are due no later than July 31 2009 (central standard time).
